20ft Shipping Containers for Sale in the USA

A 20ft container (20DC) is the smallest standard dry container: 20ft long, 8ft wide, 8'6" high. It fits where a 40ft does not, on a small lot, a farm track or a city site, and it carries dense cargo up to the same gross weight as a 40ft. This page lists the US cities where we hold 20DC units in depot now, the grades they come in and the indicative prices we publish.

Written quote within one business day: depot, grade, unit price and delivery.

What a 20ft container is used for

Half the length of a 40ft, but well over half its price: the doors, corner castings and end frames cost the same whatever the length. When site access allows, compare the price per cubic foot.

    • Storage where space or site access is tight
    • Dense cargo (stone, metal, machinery) that reaches the weight limit early
    • A first unit for a workshop, farm or small business

    Grades

The grade sets the price and what the container is fit for. The same grade names are used in every US depot.

    • Brand New (one-trip): Built in China and used once to ship goods to the US. Near-perfect condition, full remaining CSC life.
    • IICL: Inspected and repaired to the IICL standard, the grade leasing companies accept back. Wind and water tight.
    • Cargo Worthy: Structurally sound and fit for international shipping with a valid CSC plate. Cosmetic wear, dents and patches.
    • WWT: Wind and water tight for storage. Not certified for sea transport.
    • As-Is: Sold in its current condition, defects accepted. For conversion, parts or budget storage.

    Pickup and delivery

Units are sold ex-depot: you collect at the depot with a tilt-bed or chassis, or we quote delivery to your site. Delivery is priced per site, from the distance, the access and the truck it needs.

Tell us the delivery address, the grade and the quantity. The written quote states the depot, the unit price, the delivery cost and the payment terms.
