Fragen zu Los Angeles

Where can I buy shipping containers in Los Angeles and Long Beach?
MG-Atlantic sells new and used 20DC, 40DC and 40HC containers from depots serving the San Pedro Bay port complex, the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, with truck delivery across the Los Angeles basin, the Inland Empire, Arizona and Nevada. Live availability is shown in the stock table on this page.
Do you supply containers in Long Beach?
Yes. Long Beach and Los Angeles share the same bay, the same depots and the same drayage network, so both are served from this page. Stock held at Long Beach is listed with Los Angeles, and delivery to Long Beach, Wilmington, Carson and San Pedro is part of the immediate port zone.
Are cargo-worthy (CW) containers available in Los Angeles?
Yes. The import surplus across the two ports keeps a large pool of used equipment in local depots, so cargo-worthy and wind-and-watertight 20DC and 40HC units are consistently available. The stock table on this page shows current units by type and grade.
Are brand-new one-trip containers easy to find in Los Angeles?
Usually, but they follow import volumes. One-trip units arrive loaded from Asia and are released after their first discharge, so availability of new 40HC tightens when trans-Pacific bookings slow. Request a quote with your quantity and date and we will confirm what is actually releasable.
Do you offer container leasing in Los Angeles?
Yes, MG-Atlantic offers long-term leasing and SOC one-way leasing from Los Angeles and Long Beach to Asia-Pacific and Latin American destinations. Pricing depends on the lane and equipment type; request a written quote for current rates.
How fast can a container be delivered in the LA area?
Most deliveries in the Los Angeles basin are scheduled within 2 to 4 business days once the unit is released. Distance matters less than traffic: sites in the Inland Empire or on the far side of the basin can take longer than the mileage suggests.
Can I buy 40HC containers in Los Angeles for export?
Yes, 40HC is the most requested export box out of the San Pedro Bay ports. MG-Atlantic supplies one-trip and cargo-worthy 40HC units suitable for ocean carriage, including SOC one-way arrangements with defined return locations.
Are used 20ft containers available in Los Angeles for storage?
Yes, cargo-worthy and refurbished 20DC units are routinely available for on-site storage, construction sites, film and event production and yard storage across Southern California.
Was bedeutet 'CW'?
Bieten Sie weltweite Lieferung an?
Ja.
Ja. Viele Container sind für Einweg-Sendungen geeignet. Bitte geben Sie Ihren Anwendungsfall bei der Anfrage an.

Lokale Marktanalyse, Los Angeles

Los Angeles and Long Beach are one container market with two port authorities. The two ports share San Pedro Bay, and together they handled more than 20 million TEU in 2025: 10.2 million at the Port of Los Angeles and a record 9.9 million at the Port of Long Beach. No other US gateway handles that volume, and for a buyer that scale is the first fact to understand.

The second fact is direction. Across the two ports, loaded imports outweigh loaded exports by roughly four to one, and in 2025 Long Beach alone moved almost 4 million TEU of empty containers, most of them heading back to Asia. A market that has to evacuate empties at that rate carries a deep and constantly renewed pool of used equipment. That is why cargo-worthy and wind-and-watertight 20DC and 40HC units are rarely short here, and why the bay is usually the first place to look when a buyer needs volume.

Brand-new units follow a different path. One-trip containers arrive loaded from Asian factories and are released after their first discharge, so the supply of new 40HC tracks import bookings more than local depot stock. When trans-Pacific volumes slow, one-trip availability thins quickly, while used stock barely moves.

Rail connects the bay to the rest of the country. The Alameda Corridor, a 20-mile freight line opened in April 2002, runs from the port terminals to the BNSF and Union Pacific mainlines near downtown Los Angeles, with a ten-mile trenched section that keeps trains off the street grid. Much of the equipment that later appears in Denver, Salt Lake City or Dallas left through that corridor. For a local buyer the constraint is the road, not the rail: drayage across the basin is slowed by congestion, and a delivery to the Inland Empire warehouse belt can take longer than the mileage suggests.

MG-Atlantic serves this market from a Los Angeles depot covering the harbor area and a depot in Commerce on the central industrial belt. Stock held at Long Beach is shown on this page. We supply and deliver containers; we do not modify them, and we will say which grade the use actually calls for, a sound cargo-worthy box for storage or an IICL or one-trip unit for export loading.

Hafen- & Gateway-Status
The Port of Los Angeles (10.2 million TEU in 2025) and the Port of Long Beach (a record 9.9 million TEU in 2025) share San Pedro Bay and form the largest container gateway in the United States, the main entry point for trans-Pacific trade.
Binnenlogistik
The 20-mile Alameda Corridor links both ports to the BNSF and Union Pacific mainlines near downtown Los Angeles. Truck delivery covers the Los Angeles basin, the Inland Empire and onward to Arizona and Nevada.
Bediente lokale Branchen
import distribution, apparel, electronics, automotive parts, agriculture exports, petroleum and refining, film and event production
Typisches Käuferprofil
Buyers across Los Angeles and Long Beach include NVOCCs and freight forwarders, importers and 3PL operators in the Inland Empire warehouse belt, exporters loading agricultural and scrap cargo, refinery and energy contractors around Wilmington, and storage, construction and production users across Southern California.
Container-Typ-Fokus
40HC dominates trans-Pacific flows and export loading; 20DC remains steady for heavy cargo, project shipments and on-site storage.
Zustands-Fokus
Cargo-worthy and wind-and-watertight units are the deepest segment because of the import surplus; one-trip availability follows trans-Pacific import volumes; IICL units are requested for export loads and SOC one-way.
