Compare Cargo Worthy and Wind & Watertight shipping containers — inspection criteria, transport eligibility, storage suitability and US pricing.
Cargo Worthy (CW)
Structurally sound, watertight, valid CSC plate. Eligible for ocean export, intermodal rail and SOC one-way leasing. The grade exporters and freight forwarders buy.
Wind & Watertight (WWT)
Weatherproof and dry, but typically without a valid CSC plate. Restricted to over-the-road moves and on-site storage. Costs $400–$1,200 less per unit than CW.
How to Choose
CW for any unit that will ship by sea, cross borders or be resold. WWT for stationary US storage where the CSC plate has no operational value.
