When a 20OT is the right choice

A 20OT loads from above, by crane or overhead gantry, which no closed container allows. It carries industrial machinery and equipment, stone and marble blocks, timber, scrap metal, and project cargo too tall or too heavy to pass through a door.

The roof is a tarpaulin over removable bows, and on many units the door header lifts out as well: the box opens from the top and from the end.

Cargo above the roof line becomes out-of-gauge. It must be declared, it carries surcharges, and some routes and terminals restrict it. The tarpaulin sheds rain but is not a steel roof. The condition of the bows and the tarpaulin is inspected at the gate, on release and on return.
