What to Get Right Before Delivery

Ground.

Firm and level. Compacted hardcore is fine; churned mud in February is not, and a stuck truck is charged as a wasted journey.

Access.

A rigid truck needs room to approach, tip and set down. Tight gates, parked plant and overhead cables are the usual obstacles, and they are cheaper to identify on a call than on the day.

Position.

Once placed, the unit stays where it is for the duration. Choose a spot that will still be clear when the site changes shape — doors facing the working area, not the hoarding.

Size.

On a private site under an active project, usually not. Requirements vary by jurisdiction and by how long the unit stays, and a container visible from a public highway sometimes attracts conditions. The site's own planning consents are the place to check before delivery is booked.

For as long as the programme runs. Rentals are on monthly terms, and extensions are agreed as the programme changes rather than penalised.
